How. Is. It. One. Month. ALREADY.
I feel like it’s yesterday that I went screaming (like always) about how I’m so not ready for 2019? Honestly, I’m still not sure why this happened, and I don’t think I ever will be able to. January was… a difficult month – definitely a rocky start to the year.
There’s several things I want to cover in this post, so I hope that this won’t be your typical long monthly wrap up posts you see here.
Let’s dive right in, shall we? *hup*
↬ just struggling??
I… wasn’t at my best this past month with blogging. And other things too. Just, not good. Things happened and I also got busy – I found it hard to settle down and make time for blogging, which I do truly love. I hope that things will get sorted out this month, and that I’ll slowly inch my way back to my original blogging schedule 🙂
↬ I posted my first mini review!
Yes, this is the part where I start to live up to my niche. Towards the end of last year, I shifted my niche into more of a combination between lifestyle, insight, and bookish content. I’m hoping I’ll have at least 1 post about books every month – I’m really excited for my content this year!

↬ finished the dance choreo
Even though the “actual” choreography isn’t hard, memorizing where we switch in and out of the main phrase to the side phrase took some time. I’m so happy that it’s pretty much settled now, so we’ll just have to work on the bits and pieces in between.
↬ I’m almost finished my jacket!
Oh. Dear. It is taking FOREVER. I finally got the shoulder pads in, and then after that, I just need to put in the lining to the sleeves. I’m sure it will be all worth it in the end, but how many days have I stayed way too long after school 😭 But in a sense, if this is my passion, then I’m all for it.

↬ Goodreads Reading Challenge 2019!
So far, I’ve read 4 books out of the 60 I’m aiming for this year. I’m always trying to make time to read, but life *cough* school loves accompanying me wherever I go. I’m hoping this year I’ll find some 5 star books that I can add to my favourites pile, and that I’ll interact more on Goodreads.
《 what i read in january 》
In 3 short phrases: slow + no connection of characters, a thoroughly thought out mystery plot (!!), kind of similar to what happened in Waukesha (2014)
If you enjoy YA mystery, or liked reading “Truly Devious“, then there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find the same for “Broken Things”.
But. THE COVER. Y’ALL.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before // Jenny Han ★★★★☆ (3.5/5)
I… was a smol bit disappointed. After SO much hype on Goodreads, and Netflix of course, I was expecting so much more. The plot was definitely one of a kind, but the characters just didn’t jump out to me as much. Though, I will make an excepting for Kitty aka my child I LOVE HER. What a mood.
Night // Elie Wiesel (no rating)
This is not a book not worthy of reviewing. This is something that is way above standards, because how can you when you’re reading about the real life account of a Holocaust survivor? Even though I read this for school, I don’t think I’ll ever forget “Night” and how it really got me thinking about lots of things.
How can humans do such thing to another? How can we do such things to any living thing? With this book, I truly hope that we will never forget what had happened so we won’t let this dark portion of history repeat itself again.

↬ skills competition
Remember the textiles program I ‘m in? So, uh, yeah, I got invited with another girl my grade to participate in the regional competition. We’re expected to get 11th, 12th place because the rest are either an year or two older with more experience, but I’m sure that it will be very educational. BUT!! We have to make a dress in 6 hours*, with a standing-up collar.
*I am totally not freaking out
↬ Walilae’s birthday
My!! Son!! Is!! Turning!! ONE!! I read somewhere that in pet stores, they usually sell bettas when they are around 6 months old. I brought him home on August 25th, 2018, so that would mean that he would be one year old around February. I decided that since he came home on the 25, I could use it and set it as his birthday!
My child is growing up so fast *sniffles*
↬ 2nd blogiversary
Yep, my 2nd blogiversary is indeed coming up very shortly! I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for the past (almost) 2 years – it’s truly been an amazing journey, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store. I’m doing a Q&A in light of the event, so if you would take a minute or two to fill out the short survey and submit some questions, that would mean so much to me 🙂
how was your first month of 2019? any book recs? what do you want to see for my 2nd blogiversary? have you filled out the survey and the Q&A question submissions? take care of yourselves <33
